Poem Celebrating Spring

It has been a couple of weeks since I last wrote. It has been a busy time at work making it difficult to concentrate on writing.

I must say my passion for wanting to write has increased immensely. Recently, I wrote some lyrics for my 30th high school reunion. A classmate was kind enough to put the lyrics to music. It is my third recording and I am excited to write more!

For today, I went through some older writing to see if anything seemed presentable. Here is a poem I wrote one day after listening to a thunderstorm. I enjoy reading this poem and hope you do as well.

Life Blood

A distant roll

A prolonged echo of unseen light,

Anticipated.

Life’s blood begins its descent

Tapping

One (tap)

Then again (tap tap)

Each distinct and unique.

Clapping!

Now brightness.

Ensemble: Nearly an evening song.

Completing the notes,

Nature’s harmonies.

Sizzling sounds surround a piercing jolt.

Rattling through the branches

Veins of life forming

And flow….

A master etching of nature.

Then,

Silence through the drowning grass.

Welcome to life.
